What's Brass on Tap, and why is it online?

Brass on Tap (BOT) is our most important fundraising event each season, last year generating about half of our individual giving revenue during that one event. Due to the current crisis, we have shifted our Brass on Tap fundraising gala event to Brass on Tap Online, April 11-18. We are so disappointed that we won’t be host the event in person, but our number one concern is the health and safety of our community.

The current COVID-19 crisis has created an unsettling time for all of us, especially for arts and community organizations like ours. We’ve been forced to cancel or postpone nearly all of our outreach visits to schools and assisted living facilities - meaning our income for this spring has mostly vanished. However even in these uncharted waters, Copper Street Brass is continuing our critical work in any and all ways that we are able.

As our staff and artists are at work behind the scenes to adapt our current programming to a now online audience, we urgently need your support.

What's the goal of Brass on Tap Online?

Our goal is to raise $17,000 this spring, and our board has pledged an additional $3,500 towards our programming if we reach that goal! If you have room in your charitable budget we’d be so grateful for your donation or pledge in any amount. Thanks to many of our amazing fans and supporters we’re already halfway there, and we need YOU to get us to the finish line!!

Your support provides access for kids and seniors to digital educational and enrichment programming as we all respond to the crisis in our community. Once the fog of the virus lifts your support enables us to immediately hop back in our van to pay visits to communities across the state, especially those located far from our cultural center in the Twin Cities. For most of the people we serve, CSB is the only professional arts experience they have all year, which is why it is so critical for us to be ready to perform and teach again as soon as we are all safe.

What can I do to help?

Please MAKE A FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION in any amount towards our programming. If you value the music education and community programming that is at the core of what we do, please show your support with a donation now, or pledge your gift over the course of the year. It is easy to make your gift anytime by visiting www.copperstreetbrass.org/BOT2020 and entering the amount of your choice on our secure site.

Check out our online Silent Auction starting Saturday, April 11th and bid on your favorite packages – We have dozens of special items, admission packages, gift certificates, and memorabilia that you can win by being the highest bidder – all while supporting our programs!

Join us beginning April 13th for Facebook LIVE broadcasts and exclusive Special Videos – During the week of April 13-18 we’re hosting several LIVE sessions on our Facebook page, including talks about our music, outreach programs and real-time Q&A sessions with our musicians. Visit www.Facebook.com/copperstreetbrass, “Like” our page to see our latest updates, and please share widely with your friends and family!

What's the deal with a "pledge"?

Making a pledge is an easy way to spread your gift out in multiple parts throughout the year. You'll choose any amount and then choose how often you'd like that amount to be debited from your credit or debit card (we can't withdraw automatically from your bank account at this time). You can choose monthly or quartly contributions, and you can set it up securely on our pledge page!
