What People Say About our Concerts

Thank you for the outstanding performance! People are still talking about it!  Words cannot effectively describe the joy and high musicianship we experienced with the concert by The Copper Street Brass.  The program had ultimate variety and musicality, and was enjoyed by all who attended.

Lee Afdahl, ”A Festival of Music” Concert Series, First Presbyterian Church, Rochester MN

What People Say About our Concerts

Beyond good stage presence and an engaging rapport with the audience, this group is seriously good. The ensemble is tight, and pitch-perfect. Everyone blends well, and it is clear the musicians enjoy playing together.

From a Concert Review by John Shearer, New Mexico State University

What People Say About our Concerts

The CSB can do it all. From in your face Tower of Power-style aggressive brass virtuosity to subtle symphonic nuance, The CSB delivers.

Matthew Zimmerman, Wild Sound Studio, Minneapolis

SCS #1

SCS #1: Thursday, July 14th @ 7:00PM

Ladies of the Eighties

Copper Street Brass presents a concert program celebrating women musicians who shifted paradigms, challenged societal norms, and made their voices heard through music.

Spanning nearly 1,000 years of history, you'll hear beautiful liturgical chant and classical piano pieces, toe-tapping jazz and swing, powerhouse R&B and soul, and toe-tapping rock 'n roll…and all music composed or performed by women composers and artists. You’ll also hear the musicians of CSB speak about these matriarchs of music: who they were, what inspired them, and how their unique voices changed history.

Road Trip!

Copper Street Brass was born on Route 66 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and our time in the Southwest taught us there's nothing quite like the open road! On September 1st we're getting ready to kick off our 2022-2023 national tours by performing the soundtrack to the open road.

Taking you on a musical tour of the history and landmarks of America, CSB celebrates the art of the perfect road trip soundtrack. Music ranges from classical transcriptions to folk music to covers of pop and rock songs celebrating life on the road. So join us for this unique way of experiencing America, one song at a time, LIVE with Copper Street Brass! Because on a road trip, the journey is the destination.

** PLEASE NOTE ALL PERFORMANCES ARE WEATHER DEPENDENT**

Updates will be posted on our Facebook Page in advance of each show rain or shine. Concerts will not be rescheduled in the event of a cancellation.

What To Expect

We're thrilled to once again offer five different one-hour concert programs for FREE this summer! Join us beginning July 14th in Maplewood, Minneapolis or Northfield to enjoy music and community with Copper Street Brass. Each concert begins at 7:00 PM (VBF begins at 7:15PM) and goes until about 8:00 PM and is designed for all ages.

Please note that performances are weather dependent and we'll post on our Facebook Page regarding the status of every show. There are no “rain dates”; if a concert is cancelled because of the weather we hope you'll join us at the next show.

Each performance will be staged from a performance area in the parking lot at each location. CSB will have our PA system for sound amplification. The audience area will be spread out in front of the performance area on the blacktop. Shade is minimal at each location (see what to bring) and guests must bring their own chairs for seating.

Every performance is offered completely free of charge but we will ask for donations as you are able. Donations will be accepted via credit card through our mobile donation website or cash/check at the performance. Thanks in advance for supporting our free offerings in our community!

CSB will have our merchandise table and wonderful volunteers on site for the purchase of CDs, Download Cards, t-shirts and other CSB items.

Path of Grace is once again offering refreshments for purchase (note this is subject to change).

Parking and Seating for CSB Hosted Concerts

Parking lots at each location open at 6:30 PM (if you arrive early you'll likely be listening to our sound check from your car). Please park the farthest away you can from the performance “stage” to allow plenty of room for everyone to sit with social distancing, or if you’d like you may also remain in your car with the windows down (but please park away from the performance space).

Your best bet for seating is to fill in close to the "stage". The sound will be the best (it won't be too loud we promise) and if you arrive early it helps leave space for others to fill in behind you.

What to Bring

There will be no chairs/seating provided so please bring your own folding chairs. You'll be sitting in a parking lot on pavement so you probably won't want to sit on the ground.

Shade is limited at both venues so bring hats, sunscreen or an umbrella to stay comfortable on hot days. Bug spray might also be a good idea...it is summer in Minnesota and at Path of Grace there are likely to be a few bugs.

You're welcome to bring your own beverages and food and make a picnic out of it! Path of Grace will also be offering refreshments for purchase. Please note that alcohol is not allowed at either location.

Restroom Use

Indoor restrooms are available for public use during Copper Street summer performances at both locations.

If you have any questions about accessing the restrooms during the performance, you can ask any of our on site volunteers and they would be happy to assist you.
