"If you missed The Copper Street Brass last week then you missed a lot...they blew the roof off the place!"
We know that sometimes the biggest fans of music are the smallest people, and we also know that it can be hard as a parent to attend evening concerts with young ones in tow. That's why we've created a special series of concerts designed with families in mind. With free admission, activities for the whole family, and family-friendly venues these concerts are sure to be fun for everyone!
"Tools of the Trade: Building Music With Brass"
Being a professional musician is something people do as a job. And just like a builder builds houses for her job, we musicians use tools (instruments) and materials (building blocks of music) just like a builder to do our job of building songs.
The musicians in the Copper Street Brass use tools called “Brass Instruments” to build songs. During the presentation we’ll meet each brass instrument, learn its name and job, and hear how it is used as a tool to build songs using musical building blocks like melody, harmony, and rhythm. Be ready to move and sing along to your favorite songs with CSB!

We’re bringing our entertaining educational show to the Science Museum of Minnesota for “sound day”, featuring hands-on and fun musical experiences for families with children of all ages! During our two concerts at 1:00 and again at 2:00, kids will learn about how sound works, how brass instruments work, and music basics through familiar and exciting songs. After each show, kids can learn more about the science of sound all over the museum, and even make their own instruments to take home. Join us at the SMM for some sound learning! This presentation is free with SMM daily admission.
Saturday, March 23 2019 from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. | The Science Museum of Minnesota
Thank you for the outstanding performance! People are still talking about it! Words cannot effectively describe the joy and high musicianship we experienced with the concert by The Copper Street Brass. The program had ultimate variety and musicality, and was enjoyed by all who attended.
Beyond good stage presence and an engaging rapport with the audience, this group is seriously good. The ensemble is tight, and pitch-perfect. Everyone blends well, and it is clear the musicians enjoy playing together.
The CSB can do it all. From in your face Tower of Power-style aggressive brass virtuosity to subtle symphonic nuance, The CSB delivers.
